Pest control is most effective if it is begun early and the infestation not allowed to take hold. If ignored, the risk of disease, to both humans and family pets, along with damage to your property, will increase. Much of the damage is done where you cannot see it and can prove expensive to repair.

Effective treatment requires an understanding of the pest in question. The first important step is to identify the pest. If it is an insect, does its diet consist of mostly protein or carbohydrate? The answer is critical if the correct choice of treatment is to be made. Do members of the colony share food (known as trophallaxis)? Again knowing the answer will often make the difference between a successful treatment or not.

If your problem is rodents, then an understanding of how they live and feed is necessary. Some rodents will take food and hoard it - just because the poison you have put down is being taken does not mean it is being eaten. Mice and rats differ in their eating habits. Poison sold as both rat and mouse poison is often ineffective against one or both.

Not all infestations are straightforward to treat. In more complex cases specialist equipment, such as infrared cameras are deployed to assist with the correct treatment.
